| WELCOME MESSAGE | Dear Colleagues and Friends...
Welcome to the website of the Lebanese Society of Cardiology (LSC). The LSC was founded in 1959 by Dr Hector Nahas and colleagues, in order to promote the cardiology in Lebanon. The LSC is a non-profitable organization, non political with equal opportunities to all members. Unfortunately, the LSC stopped all activities from 1975 to 1990 because of the war in the country.
I believe we should all be proud of the great institutional level acquired by the "Lebanese Society of Cardiology" since its renaissance in 1990 with the successive efforts of all the presidents from Albert Khoury, to Samir Alam, to Charles Jazra, to Nadim Timani , to Elie Checkrallah to Wael Chalak, Georges Ghanem and lately Fouad Farhat. The great achievements of the Lebanese society of cardiology were also attributed to the efforts deployed by the various executive committees and coordinators of the working groups, as well as to the contributions of each and every one of you, through your commitment, continuous presence, positive criticism and ample tolerance. All these efforts helped us build a resilient society, which we are truly proud of.
Our glorious past, accomplishments, and working philosophy, made it easier for me to briefly list in a few lines the mission statement of the LSC.
Sincerely,
Elie Chammas MD, FESC President of LSC & CS
